ABOUT US

The Friends of Ludlow Museum are a charitable organisation which supports many initiatives for widening access to the collections.

Fossils In SHropshire, also known by the acronym "FISH", is our most recent project, with the purpose of digitising the geological collections. This work will extend beyond fish, indeed beyond fossils, to embrace the whole of the geology collection.

Starting in 2016, with a review of the entire geological collection held by Shropshire Museums Service, the project will be updating the  catalogue and including images of the specimens, all to be made publicly available.

Important Type Fossils will also be added to a specialist national database called GB3D.
