Virtually there.
As a part of the project we are creating and making accessible 3D models of the most interesting objects from the collections. These are available through the sketchfab website, which is the largest online platform for 3D models and is a great place to discover objects from museums around the world.
You can find our profile by searching for Fossils in Shropshire or by following this link.
We hope to add around 100 3D models of the most interesting objects in the geology collections over the course of the project so keep checking in to see what's been uploaded. For the moment we've started with a couple of my favourites; bones from the Shropshire Mammoths. These beautifully preserved vertebra are part of an almost complete adult mammoth and the partial remains of at least three juvenilles, found in Shropshire in the late 1980s.
